Twin Auger Mixer - MS 550 Multi-Screw Mixers

Since 1964 Schuler Mfg. has manufactured cattle feeding equipment. Located in the heartland of America, we have always built equipment with pride and value. We desire to compete and earn our customer's business. That is why we are one of the last mixer companies to introduce multi-screw vertical mixers.

After watching many current design twin and triple screw mixers working, there no doubt was an improved mixing idea to be discovered. Actually it was a return to an old idea. Feed mixing patterns that would never be accepted in traditional horizontal mixers, were being ofered to customers by companies that joined together two single screw vertical "mixer". Although single screw mixers can be designed to mix well, two single screw mixers mouted to a common floor plate, sharing an open side between them, still act as two independent single screw mixers unless there are multiple mechanical means to FORCE exchange of feedstuff between them. This was the basic premise for design of the new Schuler Multi-Screw mixer series... "to build a multi-screw vertical mixer that returned to basic mixing silence!", and this is what we did.

NEW single edge knife blades have teeth coated with tungsten carbide for long service and are shaped to be self-sharpening. New design also reduces horsepower. Knife blades have 2 different settingsfor aggressiveness to match your cutting requirements.

Optional bi-directional front discharge. Unload to the left or right from the tractor seat. Magnets are also options.

High volume capacity door with fron discharge makes unloading fast and easy.

Front conveyor available with adjustable height folding discharge extension. Available in either LH or RH discharge (not both). Magnets are also options.

Optional gravity-flow slide chute available, LH discharge only. Magnets, flipper spout and rubber end are also options.

Overlapping auger design. With each revolution of the augers, feedstuffs are pulled out of the opposite auger chamber, positively creating exchange of feedstuff between the augers. Overlapping augers also speed up the cleanout of feedstuffs. Also, baffles between augers are small. Large baffles slow cleanout and restrict end-to-end feed mixing.

Directional baffles between the augers are uniquely designed to produce end-to-end feed movement by being offset from the centerline of the mixing tub. The RH baffle perpindicular center edge is closer to the front auger and the LH baffle perpindicular center egde is closer to the rear auger. Because the baffles are offset, feedstuffs quickly transfer between the adjacent augers which is essential for consistent mixing.

Tri-pulse legs on both augers enhance mixing and cleanout.

Replaceable edge deflector on the auger pulls feedstuffs from the mixer sidewalls to load the center of the auger and reduce mixing time.

Variable pitch auger flighting reduces horsepower robbing feed drag between the flights. Flighting is 5/8" thick.

Mixer chamber sides are 1/4" thick. Mixer floor is 3/4" thick.
